よくある間違い①：reduce を自動詞として使う

reduce は主に他動詞（〜を減らす）です。自動詞として使われることもありますが、入試では decrease / decline を使うのが安全です。

「減る」（自動詞）→ decrease / decline / drop / fall

よくある間違い②：the number が主語のときの動詞

the number of ～ は単数扱いです。動詞は has にします。

※ a number of ～ は「多くの」の意味で複数扱いです。混同しないよう注意しましょう。
よくある間違い③：rise と raise の混同
× The temperature has raised.
raise は他動詞（〜を上げる）。自動詞はrise（上がる）です。
○ The temperature has risen.（気温が上がった）
