which や whom の前に前置詞が付いた形は、関係詞の中でも読みにくさの代表格です。しかも「, most of whom」のように数量詞まで付くと、文が二段構えになります。下の英文には両方が出てきます。

読解のポイント

前置詞＋関係代名詞は「前置詞を節の中に戻して」読む
the house in which he lives → he lives in the house。前置詞は、もともと節の終わりにあったものが関係代名詞と一緒に前へ出ただけです。元の位置に戻せば、ただの文に戻ります。

数量詞 of whom / of which は「そのうちの〜」
thirty students, most of whom … ＝ 30人の学生、そのうちの大半は〜。some of whom（そのうちの何人か）、none of which（そのどれも〜ない）、both of whom（その両方とも）も同じ型。カンマの後ろで文が二段目に入る合図です。

the ease with which / the speed at which は「名詞を副詞に返して」訳す
the ease with which S V を直訳すると「S が V する際の容易さ」ですが、「S が簡単に V すること」と副詞のように訳すと自然になります。the speed at which 〜（〜する速さ）、the way in which 〜（〜するやり方）も同じ発想です。

前置詞＋関係代名詞は前置詞を節の中に戻せば普通の文に戻ります。数量詞 of whom は「そのうちの〜」、the ease with which は「簡単に〜すること」と副詞に返して訳します。
